Oh my, what happens when you put a bunch of creative women from all over the world together in a room for 4 days with a mountain of materials, a tonne of ideas and feed them scrumptious food? Magic happens that's what!
Let's start at the beginning. Well, not quite because I did that in a blog here. So fast forward a few years later and start at the beginning of this most recent book camp.
For me, book camp begins quite a while before we physically meet up. Each year I create a unique pack of goodies for the campers.
Here's a peek into this years packs.
Then it's time to pack up the studio and head over to our local amazing retreat centre: Bella Rahka!
We arrive to an empty space.
And before we know it, it's set up and the campers arrive with a tonne of tools and materials of their own!
There's beauty to be found all over the place, both in the classroom.
And in the forest like grounds.
With lots of places to explore.
This year our theme was Cabinet of Curiousities.
Campers can interpret this theme in any way they choose, and so they did.
It was absolutely wonderful watching beautiful creations take shape over four days.
So please enjoy the results here......
And of course, book camp wouldn't be the same without the delicious food from our local chef Victoria from Vevo foodstore who personally delivers our scrumptious food freshly cooked every day!
YUMMY!!
And for the campers to Book Camp who are not familar with the West Coast Beaches we always have to have an early morning trip out to the iconic Piha Beach!
So all in all, it's a magical, beautiful, personal, inclusive, fun and creative experience where everyone leaves feeling uplifted and joyful.
